
Terms & Conditions
The terms and conditions for participating in Hive Defense Academy training classes are as follows:

Fees and Payment: Participants agree to the fees outlined in the Fee Schedule, which are subject to change and include applicable New Mexico gross receipts tax (approximately 7-8%, depending on location). A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to secure a spot in the initial course, with full payment due at registration via cash, credit card, or check. Additional state application fees, fingerprinting, and passport photos are paid separately to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety.

Attendance: Participants must attend all required course hours, including classroom and live-fire (range) sessions, as outlined in the Attendance Requirements. Failure to attend any portion will result in an incomplete status unless arrangements are made for make-up sessions due to documented emergencies.

Pass/Fail Standards: To pass a course and receive a certificate of completion, participants must meet attendance requirements, demonstrate proficiency in learning objectives (safe firearm handling, shooting techniques, and relevant laws), and achieve a minimum score of 70% on written and/or practical exams, as specified by New Mexico state requirements for CCW certification.

Dismissal: Participants must adhere to safety protocols and behavioral expectations at all times. Violations, including disruptive behavior, minor safety issues (e.g., improper handling with one warning), or major safety violations (e.g., pointing a firearm at another person), may result in immediate dismissal, forfeiture of fees, and no certificate of completion.

No Refund Policy: All payments, including deposits, are final, and no refunds will be issued under any circumstances, including cancellation, failure to attend, dismissal, or dissatisfaction, unless due to documented extenuating circumstances reviewed at Hive Defense Academy's discretion. Cancellations made within 72 hours may be transferred to an alternative date, but are non-refundable.

Rescheduling: Participants may reschedule a class up to two times without penalty, provided the request is made at least 7 calendar days in advance. Additional reschedules incur a $25 fee per request. Failure to attend without prior notice results in forfeiture of the full class fee, unless due to documented emergencies.

Photo/Image Release: By participating, individuals grant Hive Defense Academy the irrevocable right to use and publish photographs in which they may be included for editorial, advertising, or any other purpose, and to alter them without restriction, releasing the academy from all claims and liability related to said photographs.

Compliance: Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet all eligibility requirements for CCW training programs, including compliance with New Mexico state and local regulations. Training is intended solely for lawful defense purposes and not for civil disorder or terrorism, per House Bill 70.

By enrolling in a Hive Defense Academy training class, participants agree to comply with these terms and all associated policies.
